Surgery Scheduler

‍Mississippi Urology Clinic, Jackson / Flowood, MS has an immediate need for a Surgery Scheduler to join their team!

The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patient’s surgical procedures at various entities in accordance with established protocols. Obtain the appropriate information, orders and clearance from the surgeon. To be considered for this opportunity, must have 2+ years of experience or more scheduling surgeries (prior authorizations, confirming benefits, calculating cost of surgery, deductible met, etc.) High volume practice!

• Practices with ethical and legal guidelines
• Knows and demonstrates patient care services that ensures the safety, comfort, and protection of patient
• Knows and demonstrates surgery paperwork requirements
• Knows and demonstrates consent protocol for clinic surgery procedure
• Problem solves paperwork and provides an expedient solution, as needed
• Maintains records and reports of any cancellation and rescheduling of patients as well as notifying physicians of the changes
• Works with clinic supervisors to problem solve surgery sign up
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of surgery scheduling experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The Surgery Scheduler will work primarily in an office office/clinic setting
